Wow, just reading through all the comments quickly I must say , a travel agent should out together some singles trips for people over 50 that just don’t want to travel alone so much. Say something domestic that is affordable would be a good start, or a weekend cruise that is for adults, not seniors, and not party kids. you know what I mean. I would love to join in on a 50 something singles trip in the us to start, maybe a cruise.
Oh gawd, yes I went to Bar Italia to eat once… & I went hungry. Big mistake. We got sat upstairs, even though the downstairs wasn’t full and the waitress promptly forgot we were there. 1/2 hour later we still hadn’t got drinks or a menu, so I braved the wrath of the barman by going up, to be told I had to wait for the waitress to take our order. I tried to find the waitress on the way back. 15 minutes later she saunters over, took our order, and disappeared again. The food came before the drinks (still around 40 minutes later), the soup was bad and cold. I ate it because I was damn hungry by then… I could bore you more tales of woe, but to cut a long story short it took about 2 hours to eat a substandard meal of cold or tough or not tasty food, and cost us a small fortune (it’s not cheap). I had to find the waitress again to get the bill (another half an hour). If I could do the time again I’d definitely just walk out. Never been back since. Thing is it looks like it could be a nice restaurant, and I think it gets quite busy on weekends so lots of people must go to eat there. Never quite fathomed that out!!
