That has been my concern. Many people are dishonest with others and even with themselves. So, the “About You” questions that eHarmony asks seem like they will only work if people are honest with others, and themselves.
An increasing number of women (presumably men, too) seem to believe politics is an important criteria on which to base a romantic relationship. It’s not whether I agree or disagree with their views as everyone’s entitled to believe what they want. It’s that politics, along with the divisiveness we see every day, is seeping into places where I don’t think it belongs.
Hey Barb – eHarmony controls who you communicate with by providing you a list of people on the site they think you’d get along well with (as opposed to letting you talk to everyone using the site). Once they give you someone to communicate with, you’re more in control to move that forward as you see fit, although how you move forward is more structured than at other dating sites.
Whether you commit to six months or two years, you will get access to all of the available features. There is no longer an “edge” to those that choose to pay additional money. Every membership comes with all of the great features eHarmony has to offer!

It seems every time you try to sign up the price or what is offered is slightly different. I’ve tried once and it offered me $10.95 total connect for 24 months and I wasn’t quite ready to sign up or wanted to look for coupon codes and then a week later I signed up, went through the questionnaire and tried again and the price was different. So i figured i would test with a few bogus quick accounts and it seems that sometimes what you are offered are different prices, depending on the day or what you click on in the personality test maybe?? Some times it offered total connect and sometimes it didn’t. Can a person call them and get a deal? I would really like to signup for the $10.95 /24 month Total Connect plan but I don’t think I will until I can get that deal again but when will that be?
There is no price for just one month. So you have to pay for three months even though you may get into it after a week or two find out you don’t like it. You’re still on the hook for 2 more months even if you don’t use it. It’s this is nothing but a con game They ask all kinds of very personal, intimate questions so they can forward this information to other companies for telemarketing, and you still get screwed out of three months of payments when you may not use it for more than a week or two. If it an honest and legitimate operation, they would offer a one-month option so you can see if you like it. But they want you to pay for three months even though they will not provide the service that they advertise
With the free weekends, you can actually communicate with the people you are being matched with. This doesn’t affect paying members directly – if they are paying, they can do everything that a free weekend would give them. It can affect paying members indirectly in the sense that on the free weekends they may get a lot more communication, though.
In regards to getting your identification verified, I can see how this is a useful feature. When I get a match on any dating website, I am curious whether or not it is a fake profile or not.

New eH+ clients will be prompted to take a relationship questionnaire and upload some photos to eHarmony, after which you’ll get on the phone or Skype with a counselor for an hour. Although eHarmony is not a free dating website, it has a free trial version, and there is a reason that they charge a premium for all of the features and successful long-term relationships people have on their platform.
If you are serious about getting started with eHarmony I suggest at least the six-month membership plan because staying on a dating website on a monthly subscription will not give you (or the algorithm) enough time to find your perfect match.

Mary – eHarmony does have specials. The only way I’m aware of getting the really good deals is to sign up for a free account and then wait for them to email out a special. Be warned it can take a long (potentially months) as there’s no published schedule for these kind of discount but the discounts themselves can be really good. I’ve seen it as low as $9.95 for one month. Also, creating that free account is a good idea because they’ll also email you when they’re having free weekends.
